Yes, you may certainly register an iris with 'unknown parentage'. On
the registration form just enter 'unknown' for the parentage. This has
been done a number of times in the past with perhaps the most famous
being DUSKY CHALLENGER. And speaking of DC, I also grow MIDNIGHT HOUR
and was noticing the resemblence to DC. Flower almost as large and just
a few shades lighter. I would suspect this may be in DC's background.
