Re: Identity of I trecalor--Maybe

Diana Louis asked us some time ago:

"I would really appreciate some help with identifying an iris which
I know under this name. I suspect it may have aome other name by
which Other people may know it. It is a rhizomatous iris and forms
small dense clumps by which it raises itself above the soil surface
at least it does this in dryish soil. It has light blue flowers. It
also has red on the spathes. It is a smaller iris than I
versicolor. Anybody got any ideas."

I just had a catalog out-- using it as an aide memoire for something-- and
there was this entry for a Siberian, which I pass along hoping that maybe it
matches your mystery, Diana. If it sounds good, give that plant some water.

"LITTLE TRICOLOR (Sesenback 69). 32" Charming blue-lilac-violet. Small
flowers are like butterflies."
