I had three TBs that were tricked into making stalks by the March warmth.
Now that they've suffered the freeze and completed their work, JOYCE TERRY
has bloomed with the right number of parts, although not the texture it should
have. BEST BET bloomed pretty much normally. MARIAH made a nice branched
stalk with four falls on at least one bloom.
As I mentioned before, a few SDBs did ok, especially LOW LIFE. I'm hoping
that the rest of the medians will soon do their thing and be well rewarded
for their caution.
I'm still trying to figure out how to apply the advice not to feed until
the danger
of hard frost is past, about four weeks before bloom time. The answer must be
to grow irises elsewhere. --Jim
