Or you can be like me and take 'advice' sparingly. :-) What works
in someone else's garden might be irrelevant to what really
makes sense in your iris beds.
We had a real freeze yesterday morning, May 5th and snow showers
are predicted for tonight and tomorrow. I am in my own climactic
zone...I have yet to see the first crocus blossom *but* one is in
bud...all 20 are growing and I have counted 15 tulips that are
growing slowwwwwwwly. It is 40 degrees F here and a very cold wind.
*All* my bearded irises look OK except for the CLARENCE that bit
the dust but the other CLARENCE *feels* like it has a bud coming.
Of course, it is too soon....:-(
My freeze report will start with a report on a MDB in bloom...
SUSLIK may beat out ATROVIOLACEA...tight race. Siberians look
great as usual....'Swirling Lavender' is the furthest along and it
is a new plant as of last July. :-) Another of Anna Mae's wonder-
ful Siberians....
Cheers,
Ellen
