I have never got PCN's through their first winter here. I think because they
arrive too late and too close to freeze-up.
Seedlings, however, grow like native plants. By doing exactly nothing for or
to them they survive and bloom beautifully. To my eye, seedlings or not,
they are the most graceful and pretty irises we have.

Perhaps if I was not so busy and had time to fuss, some of these 'iffy'
irises would now be gonzo.
