Just a word of warning--a lot of the major "clearinghouse" all-purpose
nurseries or large discount stores buy iris (even seedlings) in large
quantities and then just "attach" a name (right or wrong) to them and
sell them in their catalogs or stores. I think Clarence Mahan mentioned
this practice with some Japanese iris a few months ago in this forum.
No doubt that same unscrupulous practice is done with bearded iris
also. Witness the "horror stories" posted recently about iris from
Wal-Mart!
