Neophyte irisarians Glenna and Ed Castillo want to be among the first of the
more than 80 members of AIS who attended Weekend Iris College II at High
Point University May 9-10 to thank publicly the Eastern North Carolina
Chapter of AIS which sponsored the event. To Roy Epperson who masterfully
coordinated the complex program, Hal Stahly (past president of AIS, who
served as exhibition judge and featured speaker, and also conducted judges
training), additional judging instructors Epperson, Katharine Steele and
Carol Warner, and all the ENC members who helped host us, our appreciation.
Special thanks to Traci Wray, Gerri Davis, Joan Yarbrough, Lloyd Zurbrigg
and Roy Epperson who opened their gardens to this formidable crowd at a
critical period in the iris season. As newcomers, we found the experience
most informative.
