Rita from the Tacoma area asked:
<Linda- what plants did you sell at your show?>
The show opened (supposedly) at 10 am, and I got there about 10:15 at which
time there was a mob of buyers along a series of 5 or 6 10 ft long tables
piled high with bearded iris rhizomes and a series of buckets with beardless
iris in front of the tables. I brought in about 100 bundles of my weedy
siberians that I dug out of the cracks in my 'patio'. Other club members
brought Siberians and maybe a few pseudacorus, and LOTS of bearded irises,
mostly tall bearded, some had blooms on display (which is what everybody
wants), others were whatever people had they were willing to donate. Some
really nice cultivars. Tom Parkhill donated a huge lot of one of his
seedlings that he didn't think was quite good enough to introduce, but
couldn't bear to throw away, that visitors had raved over at last year's
show. Last year, we had some potted irises, but they are really too much
trouble to haul around.
