CATALOGING SOFTWARE FOR IRISARIANS

CATALOGING SOFTWARE FOR IRISARIANS

FEATURES:

   1. Maintain a comprehensive catalog (database) of your irises.

   2. Print price lists and identification labels from three user-defined
iris lists. Price lists can be used as you see fit: for example, for
specific exhibits; for retail, wholesale, special and close-out sales; or
whatever.

   3. You assign your irises to the lists. A list may consist or only a
few or all of your irises. You can assign an iris to none, one, two, or
all three of the lists. And individual iris prices may vary by list.

   4. Update prices one at a time, or globally, after which you can change
individual prices (for example: most prices are $ 5.00, with some at $
7.00, and others at $10.00)

   5. Customize your price lists with your name and address.

   6. Export price lists and labels for enhanced printing with windows
based graphics programs (word processors and labeling programs).

   7. Print a maximum of 99 labels for any one iris using Avery Laser
5160 or 5161 or equivalent labels.

   8. Attach a note to each iris to record genealogy, acquisition source,
favorable/unfavorable experience, or whatever. Each note has a maximum of
20,000 characters, Notes take up disk space only when used and then disk
space is allocated in blocks of 512 characters. A 200 character note will
require 512 bytes of disk storage; a 513 bytge note will require 1,024
bytes.

   9. Add, edit, and view individual iris records.

 10. Browse multiple iris records in table file format by name; color and
form of standards, falls, and beards; year of registration; class; height;
season; plant location; description; and hybridizer. Browse permits you to
view selected fields of up to twenty irises at a time. Switch back and
forth from view to browse mode with the touch of a key.

  11. Individual iris records can be edited from most screens and tables.

  12. Search records by standards, falls, beards, class, height, season,
location, specific year or range of registration years, iris records marked
for deletion, suppressin of printing, or with missing data. Print search
results at the touch of a key.

  13. Maintain a separate lookup table to ensure class uniformity.

  14. Archive/unarchive, delete/undelete, or suppress/unsuppress printing
of iris records.

  15. Backup and restore to floppy drives.

  16. Software can be customized to your needs.

Interested? What additional features would you suggest? Your comments and
suggestions are welcome.

Software is in beta testing but can still be modified and enhanced.

Also, tell me something about yourself - are you really into irises,
exhibiting and perhaps even to hybridizing? Are you a commercial grower?

Please include your full name and address for future mailings by snail mail
- if that should become necessary.
