It has to be the indestructible I. kochii here,  growing and glowing 
right now as we approach winter in S Africa.  This little beauty 
survived such things as the mini making like a dragon and spewing 
black smoke,  the spaniel's excavation lark,  when we cut back,  
divided and replanted a couple of months ago and already its up and 
blooming - granted bloom stalks only about 8" high in this clump.  A 
wonderful rich purple,  beautifully veined,  bushy white beard tinged 
with gold and delicate stitching on either side at the top of the 
beard.  Thank you for a lovely thread Kathyguest but its going to 
double my wishlist!
