If what you mean is a "dish soap" as opposed to "laundry detergent" I
would agree. But, most dish soaps are detergents, and that is what you
want. Specifically what I think you are after is a surface surfactant (a
chemical that lowers the surface tension of water) so the aphids dry
out. Regular soap (like Ivory) doesn't have it.
