Rusty,
I have ordered twice from Sutton's Green Thumber. The quality of what
they send is excellent. They tend to send an extra plant or two as well.
Their Irises survive and bloom here in Lexington, KY. I am sure that the
weather here is harder on California Irises than the weather in your area.
The winters here almost always see some days that fall well below Zero
Fahrenheit. We see temperatures of -12 to -15 about every other winter.
We sometimes see -20 or lower, but not very often. The spring is the
hardest time on them. After an early start, we had 13 freezes this past
April. I hardly ever lose a plant to winter, but I have lost some to
spring, but so far, none of those were from Sutton's.
