Re: SPEC/REF: BIS species book--mini-review II

Greetings,

I am not a scientist, and I don't know much, but my initial impression of the
new Cambridge Species book is in accord with Tom's. I was disappointed with
the cultural information and the illustrations are pretty small, as is the
type. Some of the essays seem less than compelling as well. Mathew's book is
thin in places, but I'd still recommend it first.

Different ordering methods does not seem to be the answer to the overcharge
questions. I, too, ordered by phone per the ad with VISA and received
confirmation of the price from the customer service representative. I would
imagine they corrected most of the problems fairly early in shipping. I was
told I was not the first to call about it.
