They only seem to be eating the pollen and some of the anther. Has

Anthers here were also full of little black 'bugs' - there seemed to be
enough pollen for all of us though, so I didn't pay too much attention. Not
more than one or two bugs per anther. Towards the end of bloom (which is
nearly here, sniffle), they seem to have been replaced by lightening bugs! I
got quite a few 'takes' this year, so I guess neither hurt anything.

Only one cultivar not open yet. Heat, rain, humidity are here. Bracing for
massive rot outbreak after all the early eager spring growth was frozen
repeatedly. Lots and lots of sorry looking foliage out there.
