Donald... since I don't grow any of the irises on your list with the
exception of FLASHING KOI that I just put in... I can't give an informed
opinion.
BUT...
I shall take this golden opportunity to expound on my favorite JI - NIAGARA
POWER
NIAGARA POWER is a 3 fall of unusual grace and beauty. I call the fall color
"gunmetal blue"... but it could also be described as grey/blue or silvered
blue. The very short standards are magenta... and magenta pinstriping runs
through the falls, although only visible close up.
NIAGARA POWER is the introduction of our own Anna Rettig... a sweet German
woman, 78 years young, who introduced it (her first introduction) at 76.
Anna knows everything there is to know about gardening... in a folksy kind of
way. I ALWAYS do what she says.
Anna introduced this iris at the urging of Rich Randall, who is now very
seriously sick.
