OT-BIO

Hello everyone,

I have really been enjoying reading all the notes going back and forth on the
list the past week or two. I had been having problems with my email and
could not send a note to the list (finally got one through with Tom Little's
help then they wouldn't go any more). Gave up on that and got a new account
at home.... this is safer than company time anyway sure was hard not to go
look for postings while at work. Now I will be forced to wait until I get
home :(.

Anyway, I am fairly new to growing Iris. I had/have a few at my parents
house some are my mother's and others mine (probably 10 or less that have
names the rest are from friends houses/Grandma etc.). They did good the
first year and bloomed, now most are just sitting there for the past 3 or 4
years... no blooms and not multipl. She added iron, ???? and some other
stuff to the soil this year so maybe that will help. All the folage looks
good, but nothing happening.

We (my husband and I) are currently clearing a little spot behind the house
to start an iris bed. We have most of the brush gone, now for the hard part
all the roots. We are trying to get one bed ready by Sept. We ordered a few
Iris from Argyle Acres and they should arive then.... :) I cann't wait.
Hopefully in a few years the ones at my mother's house, and the ones we just
ordered will be ready to divide so we can swap.

That is about it for my Iris knowledge. I'm really learning a lot and
enjoying the list!

Hope everyone is having a safe and fun holiday!
