In milder climates they do pot them up right away before they dry to get
germination this year; however this dosn't work for the Texas area unless
you live on the coast. The seed should dry out then pot them up. They
take a certain amount of cold wheather to break dormancy but don't let the
seed get frozen which you only have to worry about in the bad spring
freezes one or two a year. The seed should sprout in the spring. Then you
can plant the seedlings out when they are big enough you won't weed them.
They should bloom in 2 to 3 years.
