AIS Convention Newby

Hello Everyone:

I will be attending my first AIS convention this year. Unfortunately, my
computer has been on the blink, and I've been forced to forgo my email
lately...with a few exceptions.

I would like a "geek button" -- and can't recall who to email on that.
Also, anyone with any suggestions of places for my spouse to visit, please
message me (she has diverse interests, but they are not horticultural--how
about museums, art galleries, interesting local shopping venues). I have
been surprised that we have not received any local arrangements mailings
since registering over a month ago! I suspected the Dearborn Chamber of
Commerce and Tourism Bureau would have contacted us...

Our iris season is drawing to a close. My Louisianas have been
spectacular. The TB season was good too. My best TB was Vigilante, with
which I won Queen of Show at our local Central Arkansas Iris Society show.
I also won "Best Non-TB" with a pretty stalk of the La. 'Sea Wisp.' This
was my first Queen of Show, and it was a nice experience!

'Gerald Darby' has been nice in my garden, though it is only a first year
clump. It had two stalks, one of which was heavily branched, with many
buds. The "black" stalks, of course, set it off beautifully.
