year or at least have an extended bloom season in even the coldest
climates.

I sometimes think everyone's in a warmer climate than me, except for
Alaskans, Siberians & some Canadians!
I'm really excited about trying the re-bloomers. I bought a their-choice
assorted mix of SDB's & TB's from Amberway Gardens (St. Louis, MO) & got
Flower Shower, Golden Child, Gray Poupon, Jewel Baby, Little Black Belt,
Little Showoff, Third Charm & Thrice Blessed in SDB's & Belvi Queen,
Corn Harvest, English Cottage, Harvest of Memories, Many Moons
Needlecraft, Queen Dorothy, Royal Summer, Summer Olympics & Zurich in
TB's. The majority are marked Z. 4, some Z. 5 known-rebloomers in their
catalog (which is a dreadful thing, text only & hard to read, but their
prices seem excellent, to me.)
I am trying re-bloomers not only for the chance of a 2nd bloom time, but
because the rhizomes are supposed to be more tolerant of enriched soil &
increased watering so I could incorporate them in the perennial beds I
water supplementally -- most of my garden is xeriscaped, with little or
no water other than the dab we get from the sky between May & October. A
couple more SDB's are nearly open & all have several buds. TB
re-bloomers are growing well, haven't seen bloom or buds, for sure, yet.
Anyone else tried ordering from Amberway? I'm pleased so far -- rhizomes
were healthy & each cultivar came with 2 or more fans. Besides
re-bloomers, which they specialize in, they also sell a wide range of
other TB's, SDB's, IB's, BB's, MDB's, LA's, Sib's & a few species iris &
daylillies.
