I want to support Bill, Linda and Walter in their dismay that
folks are attacking or making new subscribers feel not welcome.
There is no excuse or reason for it except insecurity. I think
if these private posts were aired publicly or barring that, sent
to the list owner, a dressing down or worse should/could happen.
