HYB:Rebloom Seedling Report

From: StorYlade@aol.com

For those interested in rebloom, and especially Lloyd, I will report on a
couple of seedlings.

STAR GATE-not introduced-This is from FEEDBACK & VIOLET MIRACLE. I've seen
this bloom several time, both fall and spring. I only brought a clump of it
with me and now I could kick myself. This spring, the form is the best of
both parents, and the color is a cross between the two, not as light as it's
mother and not as dark as its father. It has flare and presence, and on one
fall of one bloom, it has a SPOON. The spray pattern is not as distinct as
other years and it didn't bloom to normal height, although it was consistent
within the clump. Unfortunately, I have to start increasing it from scratch
with only a handful of rhizomes.

9524-1 (Earl of Essex X Hot Streak) has bloomed and is intriguing. The
standards are a greyed orangeish/lavender (light), and the falls are white,
rimmed and streaked beet root, with a yellow streaks in the center of the
falls. I can't decide if I like it or not, but it sure looks interesting
from a distance when the yellow only leave a brightness to the falls.
Similiar to the things Monty got with BROADWAY X EARL OF ESSEX, yet cleaner
and more distinct. Right now I like it. I've been through colored
catalogs and can't find anything that I can say is anywhere near it.
Unusual. Still--it's first year bloom. Can't wait to see if it reblooms.

It looks like I may have lost the LADY FRIEND x EARL OF ESSEX that I was
watching for possible introduction. Dug the wrong one, OR mixed the tags
when transplanting. I'm hoping for the last. No bloom so far on the
possible seedling.

Betty from Bowling Green KY, where most of the irises will bloom before our
show on the 15th. Have SONG OF NORWAY, VANITY, SATURDAY NIGHT LIVE, STUNNING
SERENADE (wow!), SUMMER RADIANCE, REBOUND, ETC., in bloom.
