Re: Bloom Report

Amazing, incredible, and I don't know what other adjectives to use. As Carol and I wandered around the garden this afternoon we saw first one bloomstalk, then another, then all kinds of them in TB rebloomers:  BELVI QUEEN, GENTEEL, DOUBLE UP, and the IB LOW HO SILVER, and here it only May 2.  Usually we don't see the first SDB bloom until around May 21-22, and now we're seeing these already.  Not only so early, but we have never had spring bloom on them before, only fall.  What a crazy, early season!  All the SDBs are showing bloom stalks, too, but that isn't so surprising in such an early year.  The others, well, that was unbelievable.  They're farther ahead than the SDBs.  A cockeyed year, to be sure, but I won't complain that there will be iris sooner.  Not normal for nw Iowa, though.
