Anner - I had to wait till a new bloom opened to see the beagle's ears.
I don't know what it is that makes a particular iris so appealing - a
bit of the 'whatever is open right now' syndrome, but some of my
favorites are old, fluttering beagle-eared ones, and some are more
recent rigidly ruffled beauties. I say I like complexity, haft marks,
subtle colors, then wind up liking DUSKY CHALLENGER more than any
other. I don't like open standards & horizontal falls, but spend long
moments enjoying ZING ME. I like good substance, but love ENGLISH
COTTAGE. Go figure...
