Re: Cult: bloom report

From: ItsRoTalk@aol.com

I have too many Irises in bloom right now to list them all. I just wanted to
point out a few that are working overtime in my garden!
APOLLO ONE (Sutton's) is one prolific little plant! This is a first year
plant and it has 4 stalks. It's been blooming for a little over a week now,
with 1-3 flowers open each day. Today, it has 10 blooms open with another 21
buds waiting their turn!
CECILIA D. (got this from Sutton's, too) is a beautiful plant! White
standards with smoke blue falls. I can't even begin to describe this one! The
blue just glows and draws your eye from everything around it.
KILT LILT is an amazing color. I thought I was prepared for it...until it
opened.
LOYALIST (Schreiner's) is a must have! Very bright electric purple with
almost navy blue beards.
CRACKLIN BURGUNDY is the reddest Iris I have. So different than everything
around it.
BATIK, TIGER HONEY and BEWILDERBEAST are making a nice show. I think I'm in
love with the Kaspareks!
THORNBIRD is also doing well. So well in fact, that it's sneaking out of it's
bed and showing up in other places! I thought I had TRICK OR TREAT but it
turned out to be THORNBIRD playing a joke! So, now I have 2 clumps of
THORNBIRD, each blooming, one with 2 stalks and the other with 4.
I have so many others blooming that are worth mentioning, but I won't. I do
have to put in a vote for Schreiner's seedling EE 603-A. If this plant
doesn't get introduced, I won't know why!! Snow white standards, bright
yellow beards and white falls edged in purple. It looks like you dipped the
falls into grape juice and the color was wicked up. It's a wonderful "water
color" effect. The plant itself is growing very well and has 3 stalks. I'm
just thankful that I planted it away from most of my other plants or no one
would look at them!! Very striking and I'm thrilled to have it in my garden!
