Oh, I would not expect to be in the majority on this.

I think that AIS should actively pursue the retailing of books--and I mean 
all sorts of iris books and not just World of Irises and Shears' 
book--through the webapage, and 
should expand the list of publications to include in-house written soft cover 
pamplets on the order of Basic Iris Culture on topics of  wide interest such 
as hybridizing, companion plants, new ideas for show chairmen, growing irises 
from seed, whatever.
I think we might expand the list of notecard and stationery options, and 
possibly include a very few well-designed gift items carrying the AIS logo. 
But  I think the idea of getting into the on-line auction business is not 
realistic from the standpoint of technology involved and not appropriate in 
the context our overall mission which defines our purposes as education and 
conservation.
