Phil Williams told me once that some of his customers tell him that the
slower growing ones do better than the more rapid growers in mixed
flower beds.  & some folks are saying I. aphylla seedlings are slow to
start.  I'd say it also is probably relative within your growing
conditions - in other words, you will determine what is above average
for you, rather than using a standard of what's above average for
Schreiners, for instance.
