Re: TB: Silverado

From: StorYlade@aol.com

I have a couple of Silverado children. Silverado X Immorality,a beautiful
ruffled snow white, but not in bloom this year. Silverado X Latin Lady is
scheduled to open on sunday. I had thrown this one on my bank at the old
place. Others were prettier with better blooms. Then we had a bad winter a
couple of years back and guess which one survived? It is a bicolor in the
right direction. It has great height and branching but the form leaves a
little to be desire. Still a good breeder(I hope). I was not happy with the
local growth of the SWEETER THAN WINE color class and had hoped to add
strength and form to this color pattern. The ultimate goal? A plant with the
growth and form of Silverado ( gee, I'm sorry, but it grows for me!) with
white or very pale pink standards and plum purple falls. Preferably with a
fall rim or band in the standard color.

Seems like you should be able to cross the things that grow well in your area
with the color patterns you like and eventually get something you like that
grows well in your area.

I'm getting a lot of short or mutated stalks on seedlings. Anyone else
having such trouble?

Betty in BG KY who is wishing the daughter would quit messing with the master
default system! Grrrrrr!
