Re: CULT:In Search of "Perfect" TB Irises

Well here's another thought from zone 7...

DUSKY CHALLENGER - enormous flowers (full 8 inches in both directions) and
stalk is at least an inch in diameter.
APOLLO ONE - maybe a little short (but so am I) but it makes up for that in
bloom. 4 stalks and tons of flowers!!
ART DECO - if you want a striking plicata this is the one. So bright and
vibrant that you see it from across the garden. Lovely dark navy/purple on
bright white.
TIGER HONEY - beautiful large flowers on very nice stalks.
SUGAR MAGNOLIA - wonderful wonderful wonderful!! Nice tall stalks and leaves.
WINTER OLYMPICS - very early bloom but it lasted for weeks.

you realize that I could go on and on here, and I think I will...

THORNBIRD - great stalks and huge flowers.
CHANGE OF PACE - bloomed for weeks and never looked crowded.
BANANA FRAPPE - bloom size rivaled DUSKY CHALLENGER and I don't have any
other yellow that comes even close to this color. Very bright smooth yellow
with great substance.
SCHREINER SEEDLING EE 603-A - I can't say enough about this plant!! I love it
and I see great things coming for it. Wonderful "plastic" substance and the
color is amazing!

All my plants were recently subjected to 3 days of torrential rain, high wind
and a minor hail storm. Most of the plants were shredded and looked awful.
The ones listed above looked as if they had been laughing at the whole
experience!
