Oh wow - getting towards the end of the usually non-blooming early &
midseason "surprises" (into all the wonderful, good performing ML
bloomers here) & some new to me MLs.
NIGHT GAME is open - very very beautiful, smallish blooms. Nice tall
unstunted stalks.
PARKHILL CHALLENGER (I think that's what he's going to call it), a
millenium iris from a Knoxville grower is about to pop - great huge,
lustrous, rich, dark, drool...
NEU REVUE is a live version of CHAMPAGNE ELEGANCE (dies here) color
class (?sort of) - nice size, first bloom is a bit ragged form, but may
not be all the way open, lacy with white standards, orange beard & light
apricotish falls. Nice healthy plant.
Our demo show & tell was Saturday - not much in the way of blooms thanks
to all the near tornados, hail, wind & rain, but a pretty good turn out
& sale. The two favorites for me that I didn't remember seeing before
are CHARGER, a different color of red/brown, and pink LACE ARTISTRY,
looking good on the bench and in the Parkhill's garden.
Also another Parkhill seedling that caught my fancy - nice ruffled, more
traditional form blue from BREAKERS x TIDE'S IN.

enjoying the blooms so much I'm not driven to pollen daub;
busily burying a wee label next to everything that blooms this year -
about to have all my labels sorted out for the first time in ages.
