Are you sure it is I. kaempferi variegata? I have an I. laevigata that
is variegated called "Elegantissima" which has the most beautiful royal blue
flowers but it looks just the same as an ensata (yeah I know there are
differences in ribs on the leaves and the like, but they are very similar
unless you know too much :-) ). My variegated laevigata stays submerged
throughout the year in a large water pot that sets it off beautifully.
I hope this doesn't throw a spanner in the works at all. Just trying to
be helpfull.
