I would like to mention an idea that we had for backgrounds to iris photos
in the garden that seems to be working out. We bought some 4' science
project stand up posters at the teacher's store and some large rolls of
paper in various color. We put one color on each side; so each board has
two colors. Then, we took these out to the garden and put them behind the
flower or stalk or clump we wanted to photograph. These made very pleasing
pictures. Depending on the color chosen, the effect ranged from subtle
pastel to dramatic contrasts, such as the white Eternal Bliss against a dark
blue background. There is no clutter to distract from your subject in such
a picture. I took these to our local club meeting last night, and everyone
that saw them liked them very much.
