In the fall of 1991, much later than it is considered safe to plant
Irises in Kentucky, I found two rhizomes of PIPING HOT for 99 cents at a
nursery clearance sale. I took them home, and planted them. At the
1992 Bluegrass Iris Society Show, I won Best Specimen of Show
with...PIPING HOT.
