KALEIDOSCOPE (Katkamier; Reg. '26, Intro '29) is one of the mutant forms of
HONORABILE (Lemon, 1840) that was named and registered. Since it is as
genetically unstable as its "parent", there are also a number of
(unregistered) mutant forms of KALEIDOSCOPE in circulation. All of these
would be considered MTBs by current definitions. "Kaleidoscope" would not
be a valid name for any other cultivar by AIS rules, including your
Siberian, so perhaps it would be wise to do as you have suggested if there
is no other possibility of establishing its identity.
