I've got a lot of respect for cows' judgement, myself. Come from a long line
of dairyfolk, I do. Nietzsche liked cows, too. He said we need to learn
rumination from cows. He meant rumination of ideas. Given his health problems
he was occasionally prone to digestive metaphors.

Now, my ginger tomcat is quite musical. He likes Baroque strings on original
instruments best. He and Henry lie on the bed together in the half-light and
just listen and listen and listen. Oddly enough he is my botanical cat, too,
and the most pensive of the gang of fur. He has been listening to that sort
of music since he was a kitten. Which does not mean that he has not listened
to his share of Tom Waits, too.
