TB: 'mart irises & and Other Hideous Practices

From: "Shauna _" <skorblizzard@hotmail.com>

I had a similar experience at a Superstore, here in Alberta.

I walked into the outdoor garden center to find that all the plants -
annuals, perennials and shrubs - were wilted. After feeling the soil of
several plants, I was tempted to go talk to the group of cashiers (who were
standing at the door talking and laughing) to tell them that there were
plants dying in there for a drink of water.

I decided against it, for some reason - I guess thinking that I would be
told off by one of those young people, and just didn't have enough energy to
fight back that day.

On my drive home, I felt so bad that I didn't have the guts to speak up for
my little green friends that couldn't. hmm.

Talk about plant guilt!

<snip> A week or so earlier, I had commented to the gate attendant in the
garden
section that a group of bedding plants needed watering. She stuck her nose
in the air and said, "No, they're sick."
