dark blue rayed iris
From: "Title, CDR Lynn A." <titlel@spawar.navy.mil>
Hi, folks,
I'm new to your list, but I've been raising irises in the Washington DC
area for about four years, getting a few new plants each summer at the area
AIS auction. Since my yard's sunny space is VERY limited (one 5 X 8 bed)
most are rebloomers or at least AM/Dykes/HM winners.
One TB iris bloomed this year for the first time, and it's clearly not
what its label says: Bertwistle is supposed to be a yellow plicata, and this
is a lovely dark blue, well-ruffled, with thin white lines radiating out
from the beards. (sorry, didn't notice what color the beards are). The
plant put up three stalks, with about 6 buds on each, fairly sturdy. Anyone
have any ideas what it might be? I have Master Touch elsewhere, so I know
it's not that, and it's darker than Honky Tonk Blues...
Thanks!
