Hi Barb, I can't help with your query but I must tell you that Graeme
Grosvenor (Author of Iris - the Rainbow Flower) first took an interest in
irises as companion plants for his large collection of roses. He is now a
top Australian iris hybridiser.
They are addictive, you can run, but you can't hide!
