In our display beds we use the brother p-touch laser labeler.  The labels
are placed on custom signs with two legs and about a 2" x 4" name plate.  We
have used this method for four years and absolutely now fading has occurred.
Not one of the labels has come off either, in fact we have to scrap them off
with a putty knife and rubbing alcohol.  The only drawback here is the
price.  That's why we use the venetian blinds in the stock fields.  The
blinds can become a little brittle after about two years in the elements so
that is why we staple them to redwood stakes.
