Mary, welcome, our mothers have really been more of an influence than they
knew --- I wonder what affedt we will have?!! I'm too tired now to look up
your irises, I'm sure others will do that --the heat has denervated me
completely/ but I wondered if PINK PUSSYCAT could be PINK KITTEN? Twist
of Fate is sort of favoerite of mine - I first saw it many years ago at the
National in Tulsa == thank goodness no tornado that year!! edge TWIST OF
FATE that year was a huge clump and the buds were so attractive -- a dark bud
with a silvery edge. I was so impressed with this iris (it really attracted
photographers so deep around the clump, it was difficult to see it) ---- I
phoned Cleo (the hybridizer) as soon as I got home and told him I wanted it
for sure before he was sold out. Then I asked him to explain the name - I
always find names interesting -- He said the spring before he had thrown it
on the compost pile as no good -- but the next year it was blooming its heart
out on the compost pile, so by a twist of fate he saved it. It is true,
there ae years it looks like a dog's tongue (the falls hang like a panting
dog) and other years it seems nice and perky. -- It was very popular that
year -- and I still keep it as a favorite. Now you know more than you wanted
to know! Rosalie nr Baltimore (now only the ex-president of the REBLOOMING
IRIS SOCIETY -- but I'm still a missionary to convert people to rebloomers -
Try 'em -- you;ll like 'em) zone 7 ryfigge@aol.com
