Re: MED: Bee Pod Results
From: Sandy Ives <rives@home.com>
I posted a series of notes on my results with a bee pod on Pink Pele (Aitken
'96) quite recently.
I had a very large number of seeds to begin with. I started the germination
cycle in September 97, put them in a hydroponics unit in January 98, planted the
successful germinators (14) out in May 98, and have bloom on 12 now. (One of
the remaining 2 has a spike, but no buds at all - I haven't seen this before.)
The verdict: Two will stay in the garden...if they have increases. I have made
some backcrosses to Pink Pele as well. The remainder are, as I mentioned in the
previous note, a 'Cure for Hubris'!
I suggest selfing should be preferred to being!
Regards,
Sandy Ives in Ottawa (z4ish, and Indy is blooming)
