Thanks for the repeat Sandy. I have massive allergies and have been
more out of it than usual for the last month. Now that the first
cutting of hay season is about over maybe my brain will at least start
working parttime again. I think I did see your post, and filed it in my
fogged brain under "experiments to try with supposedly sterile medians"
rather than "open pollinated TBs".
As Walter Moores has reminded me offlist, some of these pods are likely
to be balloon pods (=empty) (one empty has rotted already), so that will
get them down to a manageable number to experiment with. They can't be
any worse than my intentional crosses have been so far <G>. So what the
heck.. If nothing else, I can take some notes on germination success,
range of variability of offspring in tolerance to various stressors
(drought, flood, freeze, thaw, bugs, dogs, and large herbivore
stomping), and how those relate to same of the parent.
