I have Orville Fay, Dreaming Yellow, and a couple more
Siberian Irises growing where they are heavily shaded after
2:30- 3:00 pm(Daylight Savings Time). They grow well and
bloom well there, but their growth is noticeably less dense
for foliage and bloom stalks than Siberians growing out
in the middle of the garden.
However, I lost most of my Siberians planted out in the
sunniest part of the garden during a summer dry spell a few
years ago. All of the Siberians planted with afternoon shade
survived.

(No Siberians blooming here, yet.
We continue to have too much
wet weather to be able to work
in gardens for most of May. I
used the tiller for the first time
yesterday for 4 hours, then we
received over 2" rain since.)
