<snip> Does anyone have a pretty accurate idea of how many hours of sunlight
a siberian needs? <snip>
Hi Karen,
I have found that with my Zone 3 grown Siberians, the ones that are against
a west side fence, do the best. They don't get direct light after about 5 -
6pm, but have morning and afternoon sunshine. The shade helps keep the soil
a bit damper and cooler. I have found that the ones in full sun all day and
evening are the first to bloom, but the bloom is more short lived than those
who get a bit of shade.
As for my Siberians this year, no sign of bloomstalks yet, but the foliage
is now up about a foot. We are way behind here in Spruce Grove with SDB's
just now in full bloom. (finally!!!)
