Re: CULT: Reemay vs plastic

Does anyone have experience with something sold as ground cover that
is a light black woven-fiber sort of material?

I bought it for its specified use as ground cover, and was expecting
a heavy solid plastic. But instead of returning it, I thought I'd
try it for what I needed, namely to lay under the new soil in raised
beds, to kill the weeds beneath, but thinking it might also be useful
to lay on top of a planted bed to protect from frost, since its loose
weave might allow the plants to breathe though protected.

Any experience with this stuff?

I can recommend it, in any case, for making bats to hang from
witches' hats.

plastic sheeting won't do a thing. I get mine from the local
nurseries. I don't remember if Home Depot has it or not. I think
they do sometimes.
