RE: HYB-variagated foliage

To get variagated foliage the pod parent need to be a variaged foliage plant.(proven theory) I havn't gotten too many good pods from Canadian Streaker and a number of them have shown no variagated foliage. I suspect that the best pods are those where the flower stocks (or stalks if you wish) and preferably pod show steaking. As this is inherited throug the endosperm this makes sence to me allthough this is just speculation. The crosses that have variaged foliage have a number of plants that are pure white and they proceed to die after they have used up the seed nourishment. A number of the others are very weak and take a bit longer to die. Some are stong enough to maake it on their own. They have to be watched carefully as they throw off some all green increases and these are more vigorous and take more energy from the mother toe. The green increases have to be cut off and discarded. Eventually the number of all green  "increases" decreases (sorry I couln't resist). I have keep some of these all green increases and some will eventually through off some variagated offshoots but these will though a high number of all green plants.
I do have one hardy variagated seedling from CS that I will introduce in the next few years. It has a very nice light blue lightly laced flower. It doesn't have PBF that CS has.

CS has Laced Cotton as pollen parent and Laced Cotton is a plicata (minamal marking) so it could be used with plicata and produce plicata offspring. Or more interestingly with a broken color plicata to possibly produce a  broken color variagated foliage cultivar. Now there is a challange.
