I just did some Punnett squares on possible PBF inheritance based on assumtion that PBF is expressed only when there at least two PBF genes. These show that a PBF(2) X PBF(1) will produce 1/3 PBF plants. This would be close to 1/2 when an eyeball estimation is used. A PBF(2) X non PBF (ie:PBF(0)) would produce 1/6 PBF. Now what we need is some accurate numbers to use to test this.
PBF is quite prevlant in TBs so it wouldn't be surprizing if most TBs carry one PBF gene if the assumption that two PBF genes are needed to express PBF is a valid theory. This is the simplist theory and simplist is the best if it explains everything.
