Wednesday morning's freeze of 27o got some of the open flowers on
rebloomers in scattered areas of the garden. The open flowers on
named varieties in a display bed at a lower elevation pretty well got
zapped, but the stalks and sheath-covered buds seem ok. The
seedlings at a higher level were unscathed, and there is a surprise
there. I have a bud on a year 2000 cross of Painted Plic X Ziggy.
This probably won't make it without some help; however, it doesn't
look like there is going to be another freeze for about ten days - if
you believe the Weather Channel. I have high hopes!

Walter Im have had two of my 2000 cross SDB bloom this fall and one more showing color. How unusual is this? The weather has been good for late blooms this year I think.

Over half of the seedlings from this cross (Lumilite x Little Showoff) are very vigorous so far.
