     Mike, both your cross and mine have rebloomers on one side of
the parentage.  That, the weather, and culture account for this early expression of 
bloom.  I have had this happen before, and just because a seedling 
gives  maiden bloom in the fall, this is no indication that it will 
be a rebloomer.

     Yes, there is quite a lit of vigor in all of the crosses I made 
in 2000.  They haven't been put to bed yet with our rapid rise up to 
the sixties again yesterday.  We have seventies on tap for today and 
for several days down the road.

The earlier you get your seedlings lined out in the spring they 
sprout and keeping them growing all  summer will result in earliest 
bloom, sometimes in the fall as we see here.  The only seedlings 
usually not mature enough to line out in early spring are beardless 
and arilbreds.  Arilbred seedlings have a tendency to go dormant, and 
I have lost many because of spring transplanting.
