Re: REB: Seedlings

Hi Walter,

What type of help do you need to get the flower to term? Do you cover the bud at night with a sock? Do you cut the stalk and bring it inside?

Patrick - who rarely gets winter freezes in our zone 9 phoenix weather.

Wednesday morning's freeze of 27o got some of the open flowers on
rebloomers in scattered areas of the garden. The open flowers on
named varieties in a display bed at a lower elevation pretty well got
zapped, but the stalks and sheath-covered buds seem ok. The
seedlings at a higher level were unscathed, and there is a surprise
there. I have a bud on a year 2000 cross of Painted Plic X Ziggy.
This probably won't make it without some help; however, it doesn't
look like there is going to be another freeze for about ten days - if
you believe the Weather Channel. I have high hopes!
