Hi All,
The SIGNA newsletter has finally arrived and as usual was worth the wait.
The color photos are gorgeous!
For those not familiar with the Species Iris Group of North America, their
website is at http://www.signa.org/. Please note that current membership
fees are $9.00 single annual and $24.00 single triennial to cover the
increased costs of printing and mailing.
Dennis Kramb has begun work on a species database at
http://www.badbear.com/dkramb/signa/database.html and additional species
photos can be found at The Beardless Iris Photos email list at
http://groups.yahoo.com/group/BeardlessIrisPhotos.
Anyone looking to expand on their iris season should be able to find a
number of species for their zone and growing conditions. Iris bloom here
lasts from May through September. (We're approximately zone 4b and at last
count had somewhere over 2 dozen species in the garden.) If you think the
only interesting irises are bearded, you're missing out on a lot!
